SASH Flatbush: Building the Future of Social Housing
Meridian Construction is currently progressing with the Salvation Army Social Housing (SASH) development at Chapel Road, Manukau. This ongoing project highlights our expertise in constructing large-scale residential housing complexes that cater to diverse community needs.
Project Overview
The SASH Flatbush development, located in the vibrant suburb of Manukau, comprises 46 one and two-bedroom units, complemented by a community center and gardens. These features are designed to enhance the quality of life for residents, providing both private and communal spaces for relaxation and social interaction.
Advanced Building Techniques
Similar to the Westgate project, the Flatbush units are constructed using Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) and incorporate mechanical ventilation systems. These innovations ensure that the homes are energy-efficient, warm, and healthy, aligning with our commitment to sustainable construction practices.
Current Progress and Future Plans
The project is currently in its second stage, which includes the development of 31 larger family units, ranging from three to four bedrooms, and an apartment building. This stage is set to commence construction in 2024, further expanding the housing options available to the community.
