A render of how the Flat Bush development will look once completed.

We are thrilled to announce that Meridian Construction has commenced the construction of a new community housing development in Flat Bush, Auckland, in collaboration with The Salvation Army. This project, highlighted by Times.co.nz, is set to provide 41 new homes on the corner of Chapel Road and Baverstock Road, adjacent to the existing 46-unit Kaitiakitanga development.

The new development will feature a variety of home sizes to accommodate the diverse needs of the community, including several larger homes for Pacific and Māori families. The project will include:

  • Two-bedroom properties suitable for families of four.
  • Larger homes with four and five bedrooms.
  • Three-bedroom homes.
  • A block of two-bedroom units.
  • An apartment building with 12 one-bedroom units over three levels.
The development will feature a playground as well as a basketball court.

Designed by Fat Parrot Architecture and built by Meridian Construction, the homes will incorporate modern, sustainable designs with structurally-insulated panels and double-glazing to ensure warmth and energy efficiency. The development will also feature a basketball court and a playground, providing recreational spaces for residents.

The Salvation Army, with funding from both the organization and the Government, will continue to support the community with an on-site staff member to assist tenants and address any issues promptly.

We are proud to be part of this significant project that aims to create a supportive and comfortable living environment for all residents. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress with this exciting development.
